Lois Zetter was born in Boston, MA on January 6, 1939. She
was originally from Pawtucket, RI, daughter of the late Oscar
and Pauline Zetter. Lois graduated from Brandeis University
cum laude in Theatre Arts and first became a successful actress/singer/comedienne
in NYC starring in lead roles in productions including Fiddler
on the Roof and How to Succeed in Business Without Really
Trying. She appeared with such performers as Joan Rivers,
Rodney Dangerfield and Dick Cavett. In 1971, she and her then
agent, Bob LeMond, formed LeMond/Zetter Management in Los
Angeles. They discovered and managed many Hollywood talents
including John Travolta, Patrick Swayze, Katherine Helmond,
Mickey Rourke, Mark Harmon, Holland Taylor and Barry Bostwick.
They were also involved as producers in such films as Urban
Cowboy, Moment By Moment, and Blowout. Lois' success in Hollywood
was a tribute to her great intelligence, belief in her artists,
fearless negotiating, and clear understanding of the complexity
of the film and television industry. As a second career, Lois
became an expert and dealer in outsider and self-taught art
representing many well known artists and introducing some
important new talents as well as establishing a collection
that has been exhibited throughout the United States.
