| We know nothing of the life of Larry Mills. His body
of work is complex; he represents everyday objects - cups, spoons, bowls
- and also faces overlapping each other to create a new shape. |
| |
| It is as if Larry Mills tried to reunite all the pieces
of the world to make a whole, single, full shape, with no empty spaces.
It is as if the planet had exploded, and he decides to reorganize it, as
one would do with the pieces of a puzzle. It is a scary project, which imprisons
rather than brings together. It loses its purpose because of its need to
make everything one, and thus denies all sense of space. A totalitarian
approach that leads to a protean monstrous entity. |
