felt-tip pen on paper

Larry Mills
American nationality
Born in Napa, Idaho, on July 20th, 1947

We know nothing of the life of Larry Mills. His body of work is complex; he represents everyday objects - cups, spoons, bowls - and also faces overlapping each other to create a new shape.

It is as if Larry Mills tried to reunite all the pieces of the world to make a whole, single, full shape, with no empty spaces. It is as if the planet had exploded, and he decides to reorganize it, as one would do with the pieces of a puzzle. It is a scary project, which imprisons rather than brings together. It loses its purpose because of its need to make everything one, and thus denies all sense of space. A totalitarian approach that leads to a protean monstrous entity.
